Pljevlja

Pljevlja is one of the oldest urban centers of northern Montenegro. Throughout history, it has developed as an important commercial, administrative and cultural center that connected different parts of the region. One of the most important monuments of the city is the Hussein Pasha Mosque, which is one of the most valuable examples of Islamic architecture in the Balkans. In the vicinity of the city there are numerous archaeological and historical sites that testify to the long continuity of life in this area. Pljevlja is also known for the Holy Trinity Monastery, one of the most important Orthodox monasteries in Montenegro. Unlike the coastal and mountain tourist centers, the city provides visitors with a different view of the country's cultural and historical heritage. Its wide streets, squares and monuments speak of the importance it has had through different epochs. Today, they represent a blend of tradition, culture and everyday life of the north of Montenegro.
