Nikšić

Nikšić is the second largest city in Montenegro and one of the most important centers of the country's interior. At the end of the 19th century, it received a modern urban plan made by the architect Josip Slade, which is why it is still different from most other cities in the country. The city is known for its large parks, squares and wide streets that give it a distinctive appearance. In its surroundings are Krupačko, Slano and Liverovićko lakes, favorite places for rest and recreation. Historical sites such as the Rampart and the Emperor's Bridge testify to different periods of development of this area. Nikšić has long been an industrial center, but at the same time it remains an important cultural and sports city. Numerous events and events are held throughout the year. Thanks to its location between the mountains and the lake, it is an excellent starting point for exploring western Montenegro.
