Fishing in Montenegro – peace, water and the tradition of waiting

One of the most famous places for fishing is Skadar Lake, especially the area around Virpazar, Vranjina, Rijeka Crnojević, Dodos, Murić and Crmnica villages. This area has a long fishing tradition and is especially associated with species such as carp, tusk and eel. Virpazar, Vranjina and Crnojević River lead to Skadar Lake; Plav, Gusinje, Mojkovac, Kolašin and Berane towards rivers and mountain waters; Plužine to Piva and Piva Lake; Žabljak towards the Durmitor Lakes and Tara; while coastal towns offer sea fishing and boat trips.
