The international museum theater festival MUZETEA ADRIATIC will be held from November 5 to 7 in Cetinje, Danilovgrad and Podgorica. During the three festival days, the audience will have the opportunity to watch four plays from Montenegro, Croatia, Italy and Spain, which will be performed in museum and historical spaces.
The festival program begins in Cetinje, on November 5, at 8 p.m., in the "Ivan Crnojević" Ceremonial Hall in the Government House. At the opening, the play "Bobočka or other hundred pages by Filip Latinović", produced by the Zagreb Theater Moruzgva, will be performed. Ecija Ojdanić and Robert Orhel play in the play, and it was inspired by the literary world of Miroslav Krleža.
Danilovgrad hosts the program on November 6, at the Local Museum, where two performances are scheduled. The first, the choreo-drama "Vow", starts at 7 p.m. and is performed by Marija Vujović, according to the concept and work signed by her and Dušan Vojinović. Through movement, dance and physical theater, the play explores the phenomenon of the virgin and opens up issues of identity, freedom, tradition and the position of women in society.
On the same day, at 8 p.m., the show "The Rise and Fall of a God" is on the program, designed and performed by Christian Izzo from Naples. In the creation of this stage performance, he found inspiration in Homer's "Odyssey", Dante's "Divine Comedy" and ancient mythology. The last festival evening will be held on November 7 in Podgorica, in the Petrović Castle in Kruševac, starting at 7 p.m. The festival will close with the performance "Scorpion or Celebration", produced by the Spanish Muratika Teatro, performed by José Antonio Lucia Casademunt. Through movement, music and elements of flamenco, the play deals with the themes of love, passion, loss and memory.
The festival connects theater art and museum spaces, creating an opportunity for cultural heritage to become a meeting place for contemporary stage expression and the audience. The regional edition was created as part of the International Museum Theater Festival MUZETEA, which was initiated in 2023 by the drama artist and actress of the National Theater in Belgrade, Vjera Mujović.
The festival in Montenegro is produced by NVU Art 365 and Valor Production, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media, in partnership with the National Museum of Montenegro, JU Center for Culture Danilovgrad and the Petrović Njegoš Foundation.
Entrance to all festival programs is free, but due to the limited capacity of the museum spaces, the number of places is limited to about 50 visitors per evening. Reservations are mandatory and available through the link on the Art 365 Instagram profile. The organizers invite the audience to visit the festival programs in Cetinje, Danilovgrad and Podgorica.
