Cetinje

Cetinje is a city whose significance far exceeds its size. For a long period of time, it was the political and spiritual center of Montenegro, the place from which the most important state decisions were made. Numerous embassies that once operated in the city are still reminiscent of the time when Cetinje was an internationally recognized diplomatic center. Its museums preserve the most valuable parts of the national cultural heritage. The city is located between Lovćen and Skadar Lake, which gives it a special geographical position. Lovcen and Njegoš's mausoleum are located in the immediate vicinity and represent one of the most important places in Montenegrin history. Unlike the busy urban centers, Cetinje has preserved a calmer rhythm of life. Walking through its streets gives you the feeling that history is at every turn. That is why many believe that the spirit of Montenegro can best be felt here.
