Šavnik

Although it is one of the smallest municipalities in Montenegro, Savnik occupies an area of exceptional natural value. Surrounded by mountainous areas and rivers, it is an important point for exploring the central part of the Durmitor area. A special place is occupied by the Komarnica canyon, one of the most impressive natural phenomena in the country. During the summer, this area attracts hikers, cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts. Unlike more developed tourist destinations, Šavnik has preserved its authentic appearance and way of life characteristic of mountainous regions. Its villages, pastures and katuns still represent an important part of the local identity today. It provides visitors with the opportunity to get to know the nature of Montenegro in its original form.
