In the period from August 1 to 21, 2026, the traditional festival "Ulcinj Summer Scene" will be held on the Slave Square in front of the Balšić Tower in the Old Town of Ulcinj, which brings a rich cultural program outdoors, while the entrance for visitors is free. The central part of the program is focused on nightly cultural events high above the sea, which alternate between dramatic performances, concerts and literary evenings, and the specificity of the festival is reflected in the bilingual program - in Albanian and Montenegrin.
In the continuation of this three-week festival, visitors can enjoy art and ambient programs within the historical complex itself. The gallery in the interior of the Balšić Tower hosts art exhibitions and open events throughout the event, which further enriches the offer of this oldest urban place on the coast. Due to the location of the Old Town towering just above the Little Beach, the overall format is designed to be casual and relaxed, allowing visitors to simply stroll down to the square after a day at the beach and dinner and indulge in what the ancient stage has to offer that evening. FESTIVAL PROGRAM: During the first three weeks of August (night program on Slave Square in front of Balšić Tower): Evening schedule: Drama performances in Albanian and Montenegrin languages. Evenings: Music concerts by local and regional performers. Evening appointments: Literary evenings and panels in two languages. During the entire duration of the festival (inside the tower): Balšić Tower Gallery: Art exhibitions and open art events.
