The thirty-ninth edition of the renowned festival "Bar Chronicle" will be held from July 5 to August 20, 2026, turning Bar into the cultural capital of Montenegro. During the 46 days of its duration, the audience will have the opportunity to watch as many as 46 programs divided into 6 traditional selections: theater, music, art, literature, film and the BARS segment dedicated to local authors. The event is realized under the auspices of the Municipality of Bar, and is organized by the Bar Cultural Center, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media and the Film Center of Montenegro.
Theater selection (Summer scene) July 5 (Grand opening): Musical "Gypsies fly to the sky" — Terazije Theater, Belgrade (directed by Vladimir Lazić, played by Ivan Bosiljičić, Olivera Bacić, Miona Marković). July 9: The classic "Hilarious Tragedy" (D. Kovačević) — co-production of the National Theater in Belgrade and the National Theater of the Republic of Srpska (directed by Jagoš Marković). July 15 and 16 (Festival premiere and rerun): Musical drama "Smile for Marija Mihailovič" — co-production of JU Cultural Center Bar and City Theater Podgorica (text and direction Obrad Nenezić, inspired by Ljubo Čupić). July 18: Hit play "Blank" (based on the novel by Feđa Štukan) — Sarajevo (directed by Kokan Mladenović). July 29: Confession "MRKI - I didn't tell you" — Marko Janketić and the Roma orchestra "Kurina Trio" (text by D. Stojiljković, direction by A. Stević Žugić). August 9: Sartre's play "Dirty Hands" — CZK Tivat (directed by Jug Radivojević, played by Miloš Biković). August 11: Drama "Each bird to its flock" — Belgrade Drama Theater (directed by Dino Mustafić, played by Svetozar Cvetković and Svetlana Bojković). August 15: Children's play "Treasure Island" — Duško Radović Malo Theater, Belgrade (directed by Kokan Mladenović). August 17 (Summer scene in Stari Bar): Choreo-drama "Koliko do kraja" — Ballet troupe "Ballo" and the Montenegrin National Theater. Music selection (Summer scene) July 12: Concert performance by cellist Ana Ruzner (modern arrangements of classics and folklore). July 23: Swing and jazz classics performed by the Marco Tolja Septet (evening dedicated to Frank Sinatra). July 28: Solo concert by Montenegrin pianist Simo Šišević (graduate of the Royal College of Music in London). August 18: Jazz and fusion of Balkan rhythms — Vasil Hajimanov Band. August 20 (Ceremony closing): Monumental concert of the symphonic ensemble "VIRTUOSI" conducted by maestro Bojan Suđić.

July 21: Promotion of the travel book "Around the World" by Edin Krnić (interview conducted by Vanja Kovačević). August 2: Presentation of the book "House for Writing" by prominent regional writer Semezdin Mehmedinović.
